What is Reiki?

In Japanese: Rei = Spirit and Ki = Life Force Energy

Reiki is an ancient art of natural healing, rediscovered in Japan by Dr Mikao Usui over one hundred years ago. It is a gentle but powerful ‘hands-on’ technique which brings wholeness to both recipient and practitioner. Reiki restores the natural balance of the body, providing deep relaxation and bringing a sense of peace and wellbeing. It is called Universal Life Energy because it draws upon the healing energy of the universe rather than the energy of the practitioner. Reiki heals the physical, emotional, mental and spiritual bodies. It complements the healing properties of all modalities including orthodox medicine, natural therapies such as herbs, aromatherapy and homoeopathy, massage, psychotherapy, and others and can be given in conjunction with any other therapy or treatment. Reiki is not intrusive since the energy will pass through clothing, bandages, plaster casts or braces and the recipient remains clothed. The technique of Reiki can be used on animals, plants, buildings, cars, people and places - in fact Reiki can be used in any situation desired. To benefit from Reiki a recipient and practitioner need only be open and willing to receive the energy and to channel it.

Reiki Level One Certification - This Level One certification is an 8 hour class which provides you with all the essential tools and knowledge needed to enjoy the practice of Reiki. You will receive:

A Level One attunement which allows you to channel Reiki energy to heal self and others.
Comprehensive information on the history and origin of Reiki.
Basic information on the human energy field and the chakra system.
Training in the elements of Reiki treatment for self and others.
Hands-on instruction and practice devoted to giving and receiving a complete Reiki Level One session.
A detailed training manual for future reference.
Reiki Level One Practitioner Certification.

Reiki Level Two Certification - This Level Two certification is an 8 hour class which provides you with all the essential tools and knowledge needed to deepen your practice of Reiki. You will receive:

A Level Two attunement which enables you to use sacred symbols to further harmonize and energize the healing power of Reiki for self and others.
Techniques to enhance and support mental and emotional balance.
Tools to focus energy to empower, protect and break through energy blockages.
Instruction in distance healing - how to use Reiki symbols to direct energy beyond time and space.
Hands-on instruction and practice devoted to giving and receiving a complete Reiki Level Two session.
A detailed training manual for future use.
Reiki Level Two Practitioner Certification.

Reiki Master Teacher - This class is the final level of Traditional Usui Reiki training in which the student receives the Master Teacher attunement and learns how to teach all three levels of this healing art. This two day training is separated by a week of self-study and integration in which students practice techniques to prepare for the second full day of class. The training includes:

A Reiki Master Teacher attunement, enabling practitioners to attune students to all 3 levels of traditional Usui Reiki.
Powerful breathing techniques to enhance and expand the ability to be a channel for the flow of Reiki energy.
Master symbols used for healing and passing attunements.
Instruction and hands-on training in the art of passing attunements.
Training in practical aspects of teaching well-organized classes with comprehensive information, tools and techniques.
A detailed manual for future reference.
Reiki Master Teacher Certification.

* Prerequisites: Reiki Level One and Two Certification and proficiency of materials and techniques taught within both levels.

Mentoring and after-class follow-up: All students taking Reiki classes at Intrinsic Wisdom, are provided with continued mentoring opportunities.

Students are encouraged and welcome to email or call Joanne Panarisi, Reiki Master Teacher with any questions.

Monthly mentoring group(s) schedule will be set up for students who would like to have on-going hands-on practice and mentoring. There will be a small monetary donation for monthly group attendance.

Developed and delivered training curricula and provided oversight and implementation of projects related to the full array of services provided by Hillside through its Learning Institute.

Highlights

· Earned the trust and confidence of top administrators, middle management, staff, parents, foster parents, and local, state, and national outside agencies and consultants and built highly positive relationships with them. These relationships provided an excellent foundation for mutual strategic planning and problem-solving.
